Make Warsaw Proud!

„I’ve always supported Warsaw Pride. I grew up in a time when homosexuality wasn’t perceived as something ‘wrong.’ When I was young I had many gay friends. No-one condemned them,” says a participant in this year’s Warsaw Pride March. “They didn’t live in hiding. No-one criticised them. They weren’t ostracised. I really don’t understand what’s happening at the moment.”

“If you’re not hurting anyone, you should have the right to do whatever you want,” adds another.

“I’m 15. This is my third Pride March in Warsaw. I come because I support the legalisation of same-sex civil partnerships. I believe that all ethnic groups and sexual orientations should be accepted.”

“I’d like my daughter to live in a country which values diversity.”

Pride Parade 2017 marched through the city of Warsaw on June 3^rd. Organizers claimed that close to 50 thousand people took part in the event. It is likely the biggest LGBTQ demonstration in the history of Poland.
