Everything you wanted to know about Maidan but were too afraid to ask

What made so many citizens of the Ukraine stand together on Maidan?

Why were they willing to trust each other and what convinced them that their joint fight made sense and that opposing the abuses of political and economic power might on this occasion bring a positive outcome? Also, what goals did they have, did they merely wish to remove the compromised authorities or was this something more? Does trust in the power of common effort enable us to build a better country for every citizen or does a successful movement for change also require extraordinary circumstances to succeed? Witnesses of the recent events in Kyiv talked about the, often incomprehensible to people not from the Ukraine, specific circumstances of the Maidan revolution and looked to answer questions surrounding the evolution of events during this tumultuous period.
